OUR STORY
“Khara” in hindi means pure, true and Kapas” means cotton. The name embodies a philosophy rooted in simplicity, authenticity, and purity. It started with a belief that well designed clothes made from pure fabrics can bring happiness into people’s life.
Our design philosophy is rooted in minimalism - defined by clean cuts, relaxed silhouettes, pure fabrics, earthy tones, and hand-drawn prints. Each element is thoughtfully chosen to reflect ease, authenticity, and timeless style.
LESS BUT BETTER
Over 90% of our fabrics are pure cotton - chosen for their comfort, breathability, and timeless appeal. We work with a variety of weaves like mul, khadi, poplin, and cotton gauze, each with its own distinct texture. The remaining 10% includes pure, natural fabrics like linen, Chanderi, and Kota Doria. Every fabric is chosen mindfully - for its feel, flow, and the honest beauty it brings to every piece.
SLOW YET MEANINGFUL
Khara Kapas is a translation of love and purity - a reflection of India’s rich craftsmanship, the skill of our seasoned artisans, and our own blend of global and modern sensibilities. Since its inception, we have been part of the slow fashion movement, not just to follow a trend but to be the difference before bringing the difference.
We create handcrafted, ethically made products using homegrown materials of exceptional quality - pieces designed to last for decades and remain timeless through seasons and trends. Our intention goes beyond the garment; we’re building a conscious community of consumers who value authenticity and understand the true cost of what they choose to wear.
